Overview of the plaza The Old Square or Plaza Vieja de Habana in Spanish, in Old Havana, Cuba. The first name of the square was plaza Nueva (New Square) and was emerged as an open space in 1559. The site as part of the Old Havana is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today the square is a popular tourist destination with lots of bars and restaurants with live music in the night.
