Medical reforms in Boryspil, Ukraine by Igor Golovniov / SOPA Images
The need for health care reform in Ukraine is long overdue, as medicine has not been received in full. The infection department of the district hospital in Boryspil, where the country's largest international airport is located, is a vivid confirmation of this.
The first 149 medical institutions in 20 regions of the country, where 8 million people live, will cease to receive money from the state budget and local authorities from July 1. They will be financed by the National Health Service on the basis of concluded contracts.
